Landfill - west Foothills Reserve -
This is 280 acres, 3 ½ miles of trails west of Seaman’s Gulch Road. There would be a trail head and trail on the hill above the Veteran’s Cemetery. Thee will potentially be an open house in October to talk about trails.
9/28 is National Public Lands Trail Day.
Shafer Butte -
Christine and Chris looked at the area. Harley stated that SWIMBA needs to be alert so existing trails aren’t lost. The Forest Service currently wants to get the logging done. Not looking at new trails.

SWIMBA stand on Wilderness designation -
Harley noted a proposal at the 5/02 meeting to hear a Smoky Mountains presentation. He asks if we want to redefine our area of impact. Southwest Idaho is defined as the Boise National Forest. We would have to change our definition to expand it, discussion is scheduled for the 9/18 meeting. Currently the board can’t address issues outside the Boise National Forest.
