Finding a quorum of SWIMBA Boards members, the meeting started.

Meeting min. from November 2002 were approved as submitted.

The treasure reported that if board members would renew membership dues, we would have a balance of over $10,000.

Old Business:
Status from the IRS on our 501(c) 3 application. We are in another 120 day cycle. Although we were given verbal approval that all conditions were met, we have not been given the paperwork.

Member services will contact Todd for logo to go on membership dues renewal letter. Committee members will have letter to send out by Jan. 31, 2003

Dry Creek project is moving forward. Ridge to Rivers does not need money for a new bridge at this time.

What makes a Board Member in Good Standing? To be a Board Member in Good Standing requires attendance at 50% of the monthly meetings and dues paid up with notice given when annual renewal is up. A vote was taken and passed unanimously.

The adopt a trail program was discussed as a way for SWIMBA to actively participate in ongoing trail maintenance in the Boise Front. Guidelines and a formal proposal for the SWIMBA and Ridge to Rivers trail maintenance agreement were developed and a motion to approve them passed unanimously. SWIMBA will adopt Lower Hulls Gulch and Corrals trails. Training for trail crew leaders should be around the first of March.

New Business:
Insurance - Details on liability insurance were given to Tom Baskin for review. He will make recommendations on applying membership dues for coverage. A $1.50 per member annual premium is anticipated for a million-dollar coverage.

An advanced Trail Building School will be held in Reno NV February 14-17, 2003. Two SWIMBA members requested SWIMBA to pay 1/2 tuition. Motion unanimously approved. Attending members will submit a receipt for reimbursement.

A move by Ada County and Boise City regarding Ridge to Rivers has caused concern. A motion was made to write a letter to the new Ada County Commissioners offering support and encouragement of cooperation between agencies, Ridge to Rivers and SWIMBA. Motion unanimously approved. Todd Olson, Chris Cook and Steve Steubner will draft the letter for signature by SWIMBA board and Officers.
