OLD BUSINESS:

Treasurer's Report by Tom Foote - $3,787.89. $750 was paid to Byrds today. Harley will get the Pay Pal account for next month's meeting. Two new memberships, one member still needs a T-shirt which Harley will provide.

Cycle Idaho - Harley Parson reported the tentative dates are June 18 & 19. He has talked to Ron Dillon about cooperating. Cycle Idaho lost $1,200-$1,400 last year. Harley wants to make an accounting to SWIMBA and ask for a contribution this year. Last years they served dinner to 72 people, 10 of whom were volunteers, and lunch on the way back was for 55. 40 people are needed to break even. They want $5,000 in sponsorships this year to pay for insurance and expenses. Same route, avoiding baby heads, better maps, camp outside football field. Talking about Weiser River Tour in fall of 2006.

Adopt a Trail - Mike Burkett is working with Dave Gordon at Ridge to Rivers, 5 groups are lined up.

Mountain Bike Patrol - Jodie Liby is working with Ridge to Rivers, they are kind of doing their own thing, might be looking to SWIMBA for volunteers to apply, go through training, screening and learning first aid. They might need 2 more people.

IMBA Summit in Boise - Chris Cook said 2 board members said they couldn't make the meeting but would support it. By the middle of March IMBA will want to do site visits. There is no requirement for SWIMBA to endorse, provide volunteers or financial support. Need for IMBA is to do trail work and show off equipment. There is discussion of using Bogus Basin's parking lot. 200-250 could potentially stay in Boise, using the Greenbelt, trails, Bogus Basin, Tamarack or Sun Valley. Harley will know if Boise made the first cut in March or April. It would be the second weekend in June, 2006. International event, every 2 years. If Boise is picked, SWIMBA could potentially guide rides, host an event. Sessions are about organization's grass roots clubs, fund raising, interaction with land managers. Harley doesn't think SWIMBA needs to provide formal support. He got positive feedback from BLM, Forest Service, Sun Valley and Tamarack, they are all enthusiastic. Process is to make the first cut, then a site visit, then determine a local committee.

Board Member Selection Committee - Dan Meeker will chair. June election. Slate is 9, we will look at existing, returning and past board members. Tom Baskin will work on the committee. Todd Olson has expressed interest in being on the board again. Last year Chris Cook just sent an e-mail to selected people only about running for board election, this year he will send it to the general membership. He will send the same questions this year to the general membership.

NEW BUSINESS:

Access from Rocky Canyon Road to South Contour - The owner closed it off. Tom Baskin said there might be historical access to National Forest RS 2477, an individual might want to make a run at the closure. Tom Foote doesn't think it would jeopardize our 501C3 status. There is potential for angering landowners. Paul Woods is not having success in persuading landowners to allow access. The city would support it, but not be active. Discussion about defending historical rights to access, especially given development up Bogus Basin Road and other places in the foothills. Dan Meeker volunteered to work from an individual standpoint. He will check with a friend who might be a resource, Chris Cook will check with Paul Turk and Tom Baskin will check with Bob and Arlene Morris.

Bike Swap - March 1-3 at TJ Maxx on Fairview and Milwaukee. Sprockids & BYRDS will get 10% of the profits.

Meeting adjourned.
