OLD BUSINESS:

  • Approval of Minutes:  Margie moved to approve the minutes from Nov. ’06, Jan. ’07 and Feb. ’07.  The motion was seconded by Tom Foote and passed unanimously.
  • Velo Park (David Beck):  The project passed Planning & Zoning and goes to Eagle City Council next.  Ian & guys want to start building right away.  We need to have a formal agreement in place prior to starting.  We don’t currently have enough money to finish the project but there is enough money available to get started.
  • Shafer Butte (David Beck):  The timber sale / harvest for the area appears to be on the schedule for 2008 and 2009.  Harley stated that we should make sure we redirect any trail building to the east side of Bogus Basin Road until after the harvest so the work isn’t wasted.  It was noted that there will be a lot of heat from the public as this moves forward.  We will need to be ready to respond.
  • Polar Pak (Kristi Regotti):  The information regarding the donated Polar Paks has been clarified.  The Polar Paks themselves will be donated but SWIMBA will need to contribute $300 towards the embroidery of the SWIMBA logo on the Packs.  David Thomas moved to allocate $300 towards the embroidery of the SWIMBA logo on the donated Polar Paks.  The motion was seconded by Margie Rosenberg.  The motion passed unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS:

  • West Foothills Trail Master Plan Project (David Beck):  The committee is currently comprised of representatives from Ada County, Ridge to Rivers, Avimor and the City of Eagle.  They would like to have a SWIMBA board member on the committee.  The committee reviews connections of trailheads to the remainder of the system.  The next meeting is April 12, 9:00am at the Eagle City Hall.  Harley Parson volunteered for the position.  Kristi Regotti was interested also.  They may both choose to attend.
  • Safe Kids (David Beck):  Safe Kids is a program sponsored by St. Luke’s to get kids to wear bike helmets.  BYRDS has been 70% of the participation annually for the last couple of years.  The program is going on at Bogus Basin this year.  Can SWIMBA help them make this event a success?
  • Educational Pamphlets (Kristi Regotti):  We are just about out of the last printing of educational pamphlets and would need $500 to print more.  David Thomas moved for approval of $500 toward the printing of additional education pamphlets.  The motion was seconded by Harley Parson and passed unanimously.
