Tom stated the $500 came from Lorien’s efforts to start a bike repair project that failed so funds were returned to SWIMBA.  The Kona/IMBA $1,000 grant is for the Velopark.  Tour de Fat net was $26, 718.00 less $7,736.58.  The money paid to Parks and Rec will go into the Heritage Fund that Ridge to Rivers can access.

The $500 for pamphlets was reserved for brochures.  Chel commented that before we re-print we need to change the photo to one that is within our area of interest.  Harley will check with Ted for artwork for the existing pamphlets.

  • Comments by the President:  Dave stated last year SWIMBA membership dwindled to 42 members, 18 of whom were on the board.  Yesterday there were 82 paid members and 8 lifetime members.  He is encouraged by the increase in membership.  Strategic planning will continue for the next couple of meetings.
  • Treasure Valley Cycling Park:  Ian indicated Judd DuVall from IMBA is comint in to work on the four cross and dirt park jump.  Dave and Ian will meet with him next Monday.

Chel said Sylvia invited the Velodrome and Cycling Park to apply for the REI $5,000 grant.  Sylvia will likely be focused on programs.  Doug Tobin is the part time director for the Velodrome..

  • Tour de Fat:  Tom Foote said the bike parade this year was staggering.  Al said National Parks Service wants photographs of the event.  Some problem areas were too small of a venue, for which Ginger Jewell said we would have to start discussions with City Council early and she will testify on our behalf.  Security was a problem that needs to be resolved.  There was discussion about it not being family friendly, however the fact that it involves beer sales/consumption might mean it can’t be entirely family friendly
  • National Public Lands Day 9/29/07:  Sylvia indicted 191 people have volunteered.  Her e-mail is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Dave Gordon wants 100 volunteers for 2 miles of trail.  There will be crew leaders for each crew of 10.  30% of the people who volunteer typically don’t show up.  50 people will be working on the Nordic Trails.  Trail work will connect Bogus Creek Lodge with Trails 91 & 93.  Dave Gordon and Leo Hennessey have some tools.  There may be crew meetings Thursday or Saturday morning.
  • Sprockids:  Harley said he has given Tom Foote $1,025 for the account.  The tool shed is 90% complete.  There is an invoice for $137.60 for tools for the Sprockids shop to be paid from Sprockids funds.

Trailpalooza:   Jodi Peterson said she has a check from the Coop for $3,183.00 for trails at Bogus and she needs to know how to disburse it.  Also, Craig at Bogus is worried about how the $5,000 check was given to Bogus Basin to cut in trails 91 and 93. Bogus wants it on their side of the property.  Dave Thomas will check with some folks and figure it out.  Al said Dave Beck wants to re-submit for the Eastside and RTP grant.

  • Nick Raganit Memorial:  Chel stated we need to choose a trail, suggested looking around the system at Bogus.  Dave Thomas said he has had a discussion with Ridge to Rivers and they won’t allow naming after people in the future.  We could put a plaque, however.  Chel suggested looking at Bogus Basin.  Harley suggested the Mahalo Trail with a plaque with Nick’s name on it.  Dave Thomas will follow up.
  • Strategic Planning Session:  Presentation by Jill and Tom Gattiker in Chel’s absence.
